San Antonio is one of my favorite locations to shoot; fortunately, it's also one of Willie Nelson's favorite haunts. The barrio, the cantinas and especially the senoritas excite his imagination.

A shoot with Willie, especially if Waylon's involved, begins as a gentle segue from one cantina to another. Along the way bartenders, bystanders, and the unwary are swept up in the flow. By the end of the evening a whooping exuberant version of the Rolling Thunder Revue is performing half in the street, half in the cantina, and half on its backs.
