The 20 photographs in this gallery portray aspects of the rural Illinois landscape. It is a land nearly emptied of people. Relics of the past remain, some used, more abandoned.

D. Gorton created this exhibit. It was first shown at the Southern Illinois University Museum in Carbondale, supported by a grant from the Illinois Humanities Council.
